Private tutor in Warren, MI
Education
My name is Emily A., and I love to teach. Learning should not only be something to benefit the child, but should also be fun! I am a fun loving, energetic, patient, and understanding teacher who loves to be creative and engaging, no matter what I am teaching! I went to MSU, and graduated with a degree in Learning Disabilities (K-12) and Elementary Education (K-5) in 2010. I graduated from my required master's level teaching internship with a 4.0 in 2011, and have 12 credits towards my Master's Degree at MSU. I will be re-engaging my coursework in September of 2015, pursing my Master's in Autistic Studies. I am currently on my 3rd year of being full time middle school resource program teacher in New Haven, MI. I have over 6 years of tutoring experience, and have worked with students from ages 2-16, with various learning disabilities and learning levels. I pride myself in the ability to be able to differentiate my instruction to fit the needs of the student I am working with. I love personalizing lesson plans to not only fit the student's needs, but also cater learning to what they enjoy and what motivates them. Students are so much more excited about learning when it really means something to them. I want every child to be successful and happy in their academic achievements, and I will work my hardest to motivate and inspire the children I work with!
